5 Must See Places To Visit In Dubai

As someone who has been roaming around Dubai for the past 2 years I have a lot of places to share. However, I want to share the slightly different Dubai that is not included in any tourist itineraries and pre-organized trips.

The best 5 different places that I have decided to share are:

1. Al Awir Desert

2. Arabian Tea House

3. Al Bastakiya and Al Seef Historical Neighborhoods

4. City Walk Dubai

5. Dubai Miracle Garden

1. Al Awir Desert

Al Awir Desert is located in a close proximity to Dubai but yet it is found well outside the city. Lately it has turned into a popular Instagram destination because of an abandoned airplane that has crashed there. It is still unclear when, why and how the airplane crashed or whom it belonged to. There are speculations that the scene has been planted just for tourists. Whatever the story, Al Awir Desert plane crash is a different sight to see in Dubai.

2. Arabian Tea House

Arabian Tea House is a traditional Arabic restaurant in Dubai and a must visit. It is located at the very entrance of the old neighborhood of Al Bastakiya. The restaurant represents a typical Arabic style of dining, from the interior to the menu. You can have everything from morning breakfast to afternoon tea. After visiting Arabian Tea House you can go for a walk to Al Bastakiya and Al See and familiarize yourself with old Arabic architecture.

3. Al Bastakiya and Al Seef Historical Neighborhoods

Once upon a time Dubai was not known for its glitz and glamour but for its sleepy streets, old ports and fishermen. Instead of skyscrapers, the only buildings were traditional open plan houses occupied by herders and farmers. Al Bastakiya is the oldest established neighborhood in Dubai that dates all the way back in the 19th century. The houses are made of coral, mud, gypsum and palm wood. It is also full of wind towers, which were something like air conditioners in the old times and are typical for the Middle East.

Al Seef follows directly Al Bastakiya. It has the same design and looks but it is a modern-day neighborhood designed in the traditional way. Nonetheless, it carries the same historical vibe and feeling and one can get the same impression of how Dubai used to look like before it became an international tourist hub.

From Arabian Tea House head directly to Al Bastakiya, which goes through Al Seef and finishes with a very modern part with cafes, restaurants and a promenade similar to La Mer.

4. City Walk Dubai

City Walk Dubai is one of the modern establishments in Dubai. It is a residential area located relatively close to the iconic Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. City Walk comprises modern residential buildings and some of the best cafes and restaurants of the entire Dubai. When there, you walk along modern alleys and small boulevards and you are given the impression of being at a residential community that has everything necessary for every day life.

5. Dubai Miracle Garden

Dubai Miracle Garden is a miraculous place, indeed. This is a garden designed from millions of flowers in different forms, shapes and constructions. Perhaps the most colorful and relaxed place for tourists. You will be left mesmerized by the imagination and creativity people have invested in creating this curios place. Enjoy houses, castles, animals, cartoon characters and a lot more all constructed from nothing but flowers!
