Vitosha Boulevard (Vitoshka Shopping Street)

Continue your journey along the main shopping street - Vitosha Boulevard, though the locals call it just Vitoshka. Named after the mountain surrounding the city, Vitoshka is the main shopping hub for all locals and guests of the Bulgarian capital. Dive into the variety of shops, offering the latest fashion trends, grab a pair of fancy shoes or simply cool down and have lunch in one of the many restaurants you will pass by.

The Largo

After Vitoshka continue strolling down while you reach the yellow coblestones and the Largo. The Largo is basically a square, built during socialist times and it's a prime example of socialist architecture. What makes it more interesting, however, is that you can see the city "layered" - a church from the middle ages is located there, a mosque, Roman ruins and modern buildings. The Largo is the only place in Sofia where examples of different architectural periods are all together at one place.

It's an Orthodox cathedral and one of the 50 largest Christian Orthodox Church buildings in the world. Close by you can also see St. Sofia Church, and the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, whose eternal fire honours the memory of all soldiers who died throughout wars.
