Burj Khalifa - Harmony and United Effort

Burj Khalifa is the one building that has made Dubai famous all over the world and that is why I decided the first post to be about it. It dominates the Arabic sky at 830 meter above ground and it is the tallest building in the world. Its non-standard architecture, needle roof and glittering lights make it one of a kind and attract visitors from all over the world all year round. Even those who reside in Dubai permanently like to visit the sight every once in a while and admire the 3D mapping shows at night or the water masterpieces of Dubai Fountain.

Burj Khalifa holds not only height records but many more - for tallest free standing structure in the world; highest number of stories; highest occupied floor; highest outdoor observation deck in the world; elevator with the longest travel distance. Despite the impressive list of records, however, what makes Burj Khalifa unique is its architecture. Inspired by the Hymenocallis flower, it features a triple-lobed footprint. The Tower hosts an ultra luxurious Armani hotel, resident apartments, corporate suites, At.Mosphere restaurant and At the Top, Burj Khalifa attraction to which I will come back later.

Burj Khalifa is not only an engineering or architectural wonder. It is an example of an international collaboration for a united effort and harmony since it was built due to international cooperation. I would call it a peace symbol and a token for constructive dialogue. Peace, harmony, cooperation, communication and collaboration are all universal values represented by a building, which is something quite rare to see. Also, there are over 1000 pieces of art from prominent Middle Eastern and international artists in its vicinity as another representation of global harmony.

A must-experience attraction inside Burj Khalifa is At The Top. This is a chance to go to the top of the building at experience a breath-taking view of Dubai from above. Around 100 floors above, to be precise.

At The Top, Burj Khalifa

To enter you have to go through Dubai Mall. The mall is big and a bit confusing at times but there are signs everywhere - simply follow those saying At The Top. Also, there are several options for booking tickets that vary according to prices and timings. My advice is to book online in advance - the queues on spot are very long and the best priced tickets are usually sold out long before you get there. You can choose what time of the day to visit, There are also special evening offers as well as ‘watch the sunrise’ options. There are two basic options - Levels 148+125+124 or Levels 125+124. The reason why they are in this order is because first you go to the highest level and then to the lower ones, instead of the other way around. If you book online you are requested to choose the date when you are visiting and the precise time slot when you would like to enter. The cheapest tickets are around AED148 or roughly EUR35(per person) and can be booked between 11 and 12 noon times lots. The most expensive ones start from AED500 or roughly EUR118. These prices are very general and could vary so it is best to check everything shortly prior to your trip. Going to the top takes a bit of planning in advance but it is worth it. In addition, I say make sure you are there exactly on time for your booked hours because you might risk losing your slot due to the high number of people visiting. At.Mosphere

If you are up to some fine dining at 442 meters above the ground you might want to consider At.Mosphere on Level 122. You are going to be seated at a window table with a view over Downtown Dubai and the Arabian Gulf and at the same time enjoy an unforgettable culinary experience. For bookings and more information you can take a look here: http://www.atmosphereburjkhalifa.com

Another tip I would give is to visit The Top in autumn or in winter because the observation decks are open and the heat in the summer months would be unbearable.
