One of the beach pearls in Dubai - La Mer Beach - combines the best of both worlds. You can enjoy a fun and relaxed day at the beach, under the Arabian sun and at night you can stop at one of the numerous glittering restaurants. Some are located along the beach promenade, others inside the alleys.

La Mer is a project created by Meeras - Dubai based real estate company with projects all over the Emirate. It is one of the most innovative and creative hotspots in the megapolis, designed with an extreme range of the human imagination. It reminds of a mini city built around a natural beach. La Mer combines streets, sea, beach and a promenade. The style of the streets, little shops and cafes reminds of miniaturized San Francisco. There is one word to describe La Mer - Arty.

The area is an artificially created mini town around the beach lane and is a very good place for both walks, dinners and sunbathing. Visitors enjoy a walk alongside the beach with cafes, restaurants and palm trees. If you go inside the alleys, you find yourself on mini streets full of cute shops and cafes and lots of street art and art installations. From plenty of spots, you have a surreal view of Dubai and Burj Khalifa dominating the skyline.

If you are a fan of the beach you can rent a sunbed for AED60 or a bundle (sunbed, towel and umbrella) for AED100. If you are in the mood for some pampering, rooms are available. La Mer offers 4 exclusive Day Rooms from 8am until sunset and include indoor furniture, fridge, private terrace with chairs, 2 sunbeds, an umbrella and towels. The rooms are available at AED600 for 4 people.

Apart from relaxing at the beach you can enjoy various watersports! Choose from paddling, kayaking, water step biking, boat cruises, jet skiing and surfing.

Finally, as the day comes to a close you have a huge selection of dining options. One can choose from all kinds of cuisines - from Italian to Argentinian and traditional Arabic.

Personally, La Mar is one of my favorite hotspots in Dubai. Especially after a busy flight the day before, La Mer is one of the relaxing and close by options I always think of!
