The Dubai Mall is located at Downton Dubai. The Mall, Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain are all at one place. Check out my previous posts! It is one of the beating hearts of Dubai and a must-see hotspot. The Mall itself offers plenty of attractions. It hosts the world’s only inside ice-rink, fountains and an aquarium. Personally, this is one of my top places in Dubai to enjoy a day off after a hectic flight the day before and treat myself with a good shopping session.
The Shops
Given the fact I am focusing solely on the Mall itself, I had to start with the shops. The shopping center is not only a gathering spot of the world’s best brands but it is one of the biggest malls in the whole region of the Middle East. Treat yourself and your loved ones with gifts from luxurious brands. You can find everything from high-end fashion to electronics and home furnishing. Dubai Mall is a world on its own and you can easily spend a whole day there, especially if you combine it with a tour of Burj Khalifa and a night show at The Dubai Fountain.
The Entertainment
Together with a good shopping session, you can enjoy various options for entertainment. In fact, there is plenty more to do apart from storming the boutiques. Below, I am listing part of the most popular spots at Dubai Mall!
The Dubai Aquarium
One of the landmarks of Dubai as a whole. The Dubai Aquarium is the only aquarium in the world located inside a mall. Visitors can enjoy it in two ways - one is completely for free, watching huge tanks located at one of the levels in between the shops. The other one is going inside The Dubai Aquarium itself (The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo), where you can witness a large selection of fish and maritime flora and fauna. There are different options for tickets.
It is a whole aquatic world. The different tickets include different attractions some of which are: Aquarium Tunnel, Underwater Zoo, Behind the Scenes Tour, Underwater Observatory, Penguin Cove and many more, including diving…
Dubai Ice Rink
The only ice rink located in a mall. Learn to skate, refresh your skills, take lessons or show off, if you are a pro! Skates available for rent. It is curious to find ice in the middle of the desert. You can try private lessons from 30 minutes to 1 hour alone or with your partner or friend. The coaches are very experienced and friendly, some of them being former competitors.
Dubai Mall Fountain
Nope, I am not talking about the choreographed water show outside the mall (about which you can read here:https://www.skygirlandrea.com/post/the-dubai-fountain). I am talking about a fountain installation inside the mall. In fact, the biggest fountain installation inside a mall. It represents people jumping into water. Another hot spot to visit and take pictures.
